Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. Proverbs 27:1

WE ARE FLEXING

Thank you for flexing with us! The past two months (and more) have certainly spiraled in different directions than we’d planned. For instance, We had 7 events planned in Alaska, but I could only fulfill 2 of them due to illness. We also had to extend our trip in Alaska due to an MRI of my head which revealed a need for surgery sooner than later. **If you missed any of the surgery or recovery emails, you can find our list of updates on our website by clicking the top header bar. You will be redirected to all our recent email updates.

Speaking of flexing, our Alaska family willingly flexed of their hospitality toward us to give me time for surgery and recovery before flying home. Also, pastors in Alaska and back in the lower 48 have graciously flexed in canceling or changing event dates so that I could fulfill this surgery and have time to recover before hitting the road again. We are so grateful for everyone’s flexibility!

WE ARE HOME

Exactly two weeks after surgery, we flew back home to Illinois. The overnight flight went well. My body had no post-surgery issues from the strain of flying. It is good to be home and my ladies are certainly enjoying beautifying our recently remodeled home. We are grateful for all the prayers you have lifted for me and my family during this surgery and recovery season of my life. I’m back to almost all of my normal activities, but due to the advice of doctors and friends who have had similar surgeries, I’m giving myself ample time to recover in the nasal area by not pushing myself too hard too quickly in the singing and preaching department. Therefore, our ministry schedule is set to resume over the weekend of August 10th.

WE ARE HOPEFUL

At the moment, we are still unsure if the health issues prior to surgery are fully resolved or not. This past weekend I did struggle with similar issues to those from pre-surgery. I’m just not sure if I’m pushing it too much too soon after surgery. Either way, God is always good, and we know we are carefully cared for in His hands. We’re hopeful, though, and highly anticipating a full recovery.

WE ARE PREPARING

With the hope of a full recovery in mind, August 10th begins a fairly busy stretch of ministry opportunities that currently carry us through to the second week of November. During that time we have a few special Sunday services, a wedding to officiate, a couple weeks blocked off for Rachel as she kicks off another school year, five revivals, and a ministry trip to Mexico. Please pray that we are able to fulfill all of these wonderful opportunities to serve the Lord or for the wisdom to know exactly how to move forward concerning the future.

WE ARE GRATEFUL

As we close this update, we desire to thank our faithful supporters who are so faithful to give monthly. You are a blessing! Also, we have several individuals who have given one time generous gifts recently. THANK YOU for being used of God to encourage us during our great time of need. God bless you all!

Above: Rachel and Lydia enjoyed helping one of our supporting church’s by coming alongside them in Wasilla, Alaska’s 4th of July Parade. Later that night, we flew back to Illinois. I’m thankful for their willingness to jump in a help even when I’m not able to do so.

Above: Lydia put her drawing and painting skills into action for my 40th birthday surprise party. Thank you to each and everyone who sent cards, videos, audio messages and were able to attend. It was definitely a surprise. I’m blessed by your encouragement.
