A Surprise Alaska Trip

Image
A somewhat last minute trip to Alaska came up and we jumped on the opportunity. This whole trip was designed to surprise a youth pastor in Fairbanks, Alaska for faithfully serving for 20 years as a youth pastor. My girls couldn’t go due to how fast the trip and turn around times were, but it was a blessing to get to visit Alaska again so soon. Here are some pics to recap the trip: Denali and view from the air! A beautiful Alaskan day in the valley. On my way to Glennallen from Palmer to preach God‘s word! One of the games we played to surprise the Youth Pastor was called “the price is exactly right.” He is sitting on one of the gifts the people blessed him with! Another beautiful Alaska travel day! I had the privilege of going to the Alaska State Fair with my sister-in-law, my niece and my two nephews! I enjoyed laying the dining room floor flowing from the kitchen that was remodeled in July. I also got to install a sink and a dishwasher at another location. It was a busy but blessed t...

Summer Alaska Trip Recap

Image
This trip was not a planned trip at the start of this year. In fact, we weren’t planning on going up to Alaska until Christmas. God had other plans! Here are some pics to recap our July Alaskan adventures: I was honored to renovate Rachel’s Uncle’s kitchen! This is a before and after picture. It was great to stop in and hear Pastor Wes preach at His Servant’s youth camp! We had a great youth event under the tent in Homer, Alaska! Many teens from Homer were present-along with teens from Fairfax Baptist Temple in Virginia. Praise the Lord each of them! Lydia enjoying a trip to the Homer Spit…beautiful! The Smith ladies enjoying an Alaskan lake day! Thank you to everyone who keeps up with our travels and prayers for each event…God bless you!

Reflection lake is one of many beautiful spots to walk in the state of Alaska. It’s found just outside of Palmer and Wasilla, and I’d encourage anyone passing by to take the time to stop and walk as you’re able. I would like to make some spiritual applications to our quick trip to reflection lake. *Note: it wasn't my intention to receive spiritual applications, but a couple days after the walk the Lord began giving me life lessons from our little trip. :-) #1 - I didn't know what to expect. I didn’t know how long the walk around the lake would be. I didn’t know there be a wonderful spot to skip rocks. I didn’t know how clear the water was going to be. I didn’t know that there was a beautiful man made tower that i...
