Live Stream at Crossroads and Vacation

Image
Live Stream at Crossroads and Vacation My wife and I are loving our time on vacation! We are thankful for the rest and family time we are receiving. We are also very thankful for technology and the opportunity to watch our church’s services through our church app.  As the Pastor of Crossroads, I’m so grateful for an Assistant Pastor who desires to teach and preach the sincere truth of God’s Word, and for a congregation that loves to serve the Lord together! I’m super excited to move forward with the Crossroads family as the Lord leads us according to His will! Blessed Beyond Measure, Pastor Justyn Smith (at Ski Granby Ranch)

We Need Rest

Image
We Need Rest This challenge to rest was complied and written after a challenge on “Worker or Waster” was published. I believe it is imperative to understand that we should not be lazy, but I also believe that it is equally important to take rest. As for me, my personal weakness is getting myself to take rest. (Can I get a witness?) I understand the need to, but every time I sit down to rest I begin to think of all the things I need to do or could do. I actually have to force myself to do nothing, and tell myself over and over again, “It’s ok to rest. Everything will be fine. You aren’t the one keeping things going as it is…that’s the Lord’s job. Etc.” Let me be honest…there are a lot of lazy preachers out there, and I told myself years ago that I never want to give my congregation a reason to believe their pastor is lazy. I desire for them to understand that their pastor is a hard worker and that being evident in my preaching, praying, visiting, DIY jobs, design work, how he takes ca

Worker or Waster?

Image
Worker or Waster? Choose the word that best describes you…Worker or Waster. Please be honest, and evaluate your present description. Don’t say to yourself, “This is what I want to be,“ and then never fulfill that desire, but, rather, constantly purpose to pursue that which you desire to be for God, even if you already are. Of course, in dealing with these two words that I have given, being a worker for the Lord is what you should desire to be until the day you draw your last breath this side of glory! This is one of the verses that stood out to me in my morning Bible reading with my wife… "He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.” Proverbs 18:9 May I compel you for a moment to think of the joys behind hard labor? May I challenge you to be a “go-getter,” and stop being slothful with the Lord’s work? We need more laborers for Christ’s sake. We don’t need any more side-lined, sluggardly or slothful Christians! There is work to do, and much of t

Get The App!

Get The App! Free Church App from Crossroads Peoria!!! Have you downloaded our church app yet? It’s compatible on Apple, Android, and Windows based phones or tablets! We desire to reach as many people as we can with the Truth of God’s Word, and this is one of the avenues the Lord has allowed us since the fall of 2013.  More people than ever are accessing the Internet on mobile devices. More people than ever would choose an app over a web site from their mobile device. Based on this statistic, we jumped on board with obtaining a mobile platform so we could impact our generation for Christ, via a good use of technology!  If you already have our church app, I trust that you are frequenting the app, and soaking up the ministry of the Word. We desire to “exhort one another daily,” and we know that this exhorting received depends on the hearer utilizing the app. So please, access the app frequently, and be blessed and encouraged by the ministry of Crossroads Baptist Church…whatever your lo

WELCOME TO A NEW DAY!

Image
WELCOME TO A NEW DAY! WELCOME TO A NEW DAY! May your morning be good…so good because it begins with God waking you up to say, “…learn of me.” (Matthew 11:9) To learn more about God and His Word should be our greatest desire everyday. Oh, that we may sit at His feet and hear His Word! (Luke 10:39) Please pay attention to this wonderful verse from Isaiah 50 and verse 4, “The Lord God hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.” Here’s a truth to take in…there are weary souls all around us-every day. Here’s another truth to take in and swallow hard…we have often missed grand opportunities to be used of God in another’s weariness because we have not been in His Word and the place of prayer-we’re not seasoned with salt!  We have too many distractions and too many things vying for our attention, that we miss the most valuable time of our day-time

Time Is Of The Essence!!

Image
Time Is Of The Essence!! We must reach our city for Christ, or sin will continue to overcome and overrun.  Sin always takes us farther than we want to go, keeps us longer than we want to stay, and costs us more than we want to pay! Sin brings death, but Christ brings life! Let’s get busy keeping the main thing the main thing. Let’s purpose to live in the joy of the Lord that we may spread the joy of the Lord. Let’s fall more in love with Jesus so others may fall more in love with Jesus.  Always remember, you could be the one who makes a difference in your town for the cause of Jesus Christ! Live on for Jesus, and thank you for serving Him today! Let’s witness the abundantly more than we could ask or think! Blessed Beyond Measure, Pastor Justyn Smith CrossroadsPeoria.com
