7 Things I’m Thankful For This Thanksgiving

Image
7 Things I’m Thankful For This Thanksgiving Today, we will be stuffed with thanksgiving wishes from every avenue of social media, email, and text. We will hear these wishes on the radio. We will hear them from our friends. Some will get tired of the constant thanksgiving wishes, and others will pipe in on the thanksgiving wishes melody, but what if all the thanksgiving wishes actually motivated us to pause for a moment and simply give thanks today? This would be a life changer, and that is why I am typing this record. As a Child of God, Husband, and Preacher, I would like to take a moment to go on the record and give thanks for 7 things that I never want to take for granted. The seven things I’m Thankful for this Thanksgiving are as follows:  1. I’m thankful for salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord , for without it I would be lost and undone in my sin and on my way to hell. God has been so good to save a sinner like me!  I need to give the Gospel out more often, more effectively,

At The Edge Of The Impossible

At The Edge Of The Impossible When standing at the edge of the impossible, step out! God will use you! Matthew 14:28 "And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. 29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me. 31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?" I often wonder what all God has in store for us at Crossroads Baptist Church?!? What does God have in store for you? When will the impossible occur again? When will we rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory? Maybe today?!? Maybe tomorrow?!? But while we patiently wait, we must keep our eyes on God, fully trusting that He is always ready to do something God-like while we stand of the edge of dec

Give Thanks

Give Thanks Psalm 105:1 " O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people." We have an awesome privilege to call upon the name of the Lord, and one of the things we do the least, when we call upon Him, is thank Him. I want to challenge you to purpose to give thanks to God more frequently and truly by committing to the following helps: I. Start your prayer with, "Dear God, I want to thank you for...," and then let Him know the specifics. Share at least one thing with Him that stands out to you at the very moment you are praying. Determine you are going to praise Him for something different each time. Though He is worthy of all praise, don't get stuck using the same phrases over and over again as you thank Him.  II. Let someone else know why you are thankful for God this thanksgiving. The end of the verse says, " make known his deeds among the people."  Now, its one things to testify of God's goodness on socia

Pray For Our Nation

Pray For Our Nation My challenge for you tonight: 1. Purpose to have a family altar time. 2. Teach your family about this pivotal time in America. 3. Read verses to your family like:   2 Chronicles 7:14  If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. •••••••••• Nehemiah 1 The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. And it came to pass in the month Chisleu, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace,  That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.  And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.  And it ca

Three "Musts" For Missions Revival

Three "Musts" For Missions Revival I'm really excited about getting in on everything God has in store for us this week at our 2016 Missions Revival, "REACHING THE NATIONS," and it's my desire to prepare you to be ready for our missions revival this week by giving you the "Three 'Musts' For Missions Revival." I'm so thankful for the many who have volunteered their services in many different ways (food prep, basket items, decorating, 5K sign up, etc), but there is still a few things that need to be done. Let me list them so you can help us all be ready for a great missions revival this week! I. We must be  Pure !  There's no need for us to wait for tonight to "get things in order spiritually." Get them in order now. Let's search our hearts and our lives. We'll find out the meeting will be "that much better" if we are where we need to be spiritually, which is, in right standing before God with no deceitful
