Thanksgiving In India

Thanksgiving In India Thanksgiving In India It was November 25th, 2010, and the Tesseneers (our missionary friends to India) and our Indian friend were wonderful hosts! Thanksgiving looked different for us that year. ->We weren’t around blood family (and we missed them), but we were around God’s family! ->We didn’t have turkey, but we had food! ->We weren’t in America, but we were in India! I am reminded of 3 points to chew on as I think about that Thanksgiving Day 8 years ago: I. To REJOICE! We rejoiced to see the mission-field of India where God was and still is doing a great work. We were honored to rejoice in God's goodness with our missionary friends and newly found Indian friends. We enjoyed BBQ-ed Chicken roasted over the fire. We prayed together, sang together and enjoyed great fellowship in the Bible College's Living Quarters. ->Take a moment to look around at all that you have-your friends and family, your material possessions and even the money you may ...

7 Things I’m Thankful For This Thanksgiving

Image
7 Things I’m Thankful For This Thanksgiving Today, we will be stuffed with thanksgiving wishes from every avenue of social media, email, and text. We will hear these wishes on the radio. We will hear them from our friends. Some will get tired of the constant thanksgiving wishes, and others will pipe in on the thanksgiving wishes melody, but what if all the thanksgiving wishes actually motivated us to pause for a moment and simply give thanks today? This would be a life changer, and that is why I am typing this record. As a Child of God, Husband, and Preacher, I would like to take a moment to go on the record and give thanks for 7 things that I never want to take for granted. The seven things I’m Thankful for this Thanksgiving are as follows:  1. I’m thankful for salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord , for without it I would be lost and undone in my sin and on my way to hell. God has been so good to save a sinner like me!  I need to give the Gospel out more often, more...

Give Thanks

Give Thanks Psalm 105:1 " O give thanks unto the LORD; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people." We have an awesome privilege to call upon the name of the Lord, and one of the things we do the least, when we call upon Him, is thank Him. I want to challenge you to purpose to give thanks to God more frequently and truly by committing to the following helps: I. Start your prayer with, "Dear God, I want to thank you for...," and then let Him know the specifics. Share at least one thing with Him that stands out to you at the very moment you are praying. Determine you are going to praise Him for something different each time. Though He is worthy of all praise, don't get stuck using the same phrases over and over again as you thank Him.  II. Let someone else know why you are thankful for God this thanksgiving. The end of the verse says, " make known his deeds among the people."  Now, its one things to testify of God's goodness on socia...

A Special Thanks To All Serving The Lord

Image
A Special Thanks To All Serving The Lord We wish to lift a voice of praise for all Gospel Pastors, Evangelists, Missionaries, Teachers, and Laymen (and especially their brides) who consistently and compassionately labor to see revival, souls saved, the magnification of God, and the health of the body of Christ!   Your work and labour of love is not in vain…stick to it…fight the good fight…don’t give in to temptation…take time to be holy…work till Jesus comes…go ye into all the world…draw near to the heart of God…be a vessel fit for the Master’s use…sing His praises…stand having done all to stand…let Him have His way with thee…all the while giving all glory to God! We must continue our ministries with pulpits afire, the glory of God seen, the love of God on our lips, the grace of God evident in our hearts, the power of God displayed, and the help of God on our persons.  May we see Him who is invisible as never before. May we possess within our reins a holy zeal to minist...
