CHOICES

CHOICES Created with Adobe Spark CHOICES  (FBC's Graduation Service - 5.25.18) People have asked for the details of last night's graduation message at Faith Baptist Church in Pekin, IL. Here they are, and may God continue to bless with the overflow and outpouring of God's Word! Question: Have you ever lived off the overflow of the blessings of God in some one else's life? They made good choices, and now you reap the benifits. This was what happened with Abram and Lot. Before I give the simple points to the message of the hour, please note the following statistic: We, as adults, make around 35,000 choices a day. Every choice should be important! As children, our choices are simple, maybe "M&M's or Skittles!" But, as we grow, we discover that the choices become a little more difficult and involved.  Ponder the following quotes: Zig Ziglar - Every choice you make as an end result. Thomas Watson – Religion is not a matter of chance, but of choice. Henry ...

The Person Others Can't Live Without

The Person Others Can't Live Without Photo Credit: Ammar Rizwan on Unsplash The Person Others Can't Live Without As I ponder all the goodness of God in my life, I'm reminded today that I'm so blessed because of the many people in my life who have the touch of God on  them. These are people that I can't live without. I want to be a person that others can't live without, and the reason why God blesses other people. Think deeply about the following verse: And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes,  tarry: for  I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.  Genesis 30:27 Isn't this statement amazing!? Laban did not want Jacob to leave his presence because he had experienced the LORD'S blessings in his life because of Jacob!  Jacob worked tirelessly for Laban's daughter.  Laban abused the hard labour of Jacob.  Jacob was tricked,  and he ended up working extra time to get who ...

Great Is Thy Faithfulness!

Image
Great Is Thy Faithfulness! Have you EVER MESSED UP? Maybe not you, but I know I have...and if you’re like me-it’s always much to my chagrin!  BUT... —> in God is faithfulness! —> in God is hope! —> in God is mercy! —> in God is compassion! —> in God is goodness! —> in God is salvation! Lamentations 3:20-26 [20] My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.  [21] This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.  [22] It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  [23] They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.  [24] The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.  [25] The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.  [26] It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord. We ALL mess up, and for all of our faults and failures - GOD is there!  Please take great joy and hop...

REJOICE IN THE LORD WITH US!

Image
REJOICE IN THE LORD WITH US! REJOICE IN THE LORD WITH US! “Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord.” 1 Chronicles 16:10 “Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous: for praise is comely for the upright.” Psalm 33:1 Sometimes rejoicing is lost in the aftermath of revival...not this year! Sometimes, the creepy devil and distracting flesh of man slides on the scene and distracts people from all the Lord did during the meeting and all the Lord wants carried out after the meeting. Sometimes, the Sunday after revival can be discouraging...but not this year...Rejoice: —> Revival was well attended and very helpful! —> Our ladies were greatly helped during this year’s Woman Of Purpose event! (Next day after revival.) —> Sunday’s attendance was strong again this week! —> A lady trusted Christ Sunday Morning! —> A sweet spirit in the church! —> Great Bus Kid’s lunch and afternoon party! —> Many encouraging testimonies of how the Lord worked ...

Awake America

Awake America In view of attending the Awake America Revival and being a part of Capitol Connection, it's my desire to see America Awake out of it's slumber concerning the HOLY THINGS of God.  May we be reminded that our greatest need is not more jobs, more money, peace with our enemies or a better health care system.... Our greatest need is JESUS CHRIST! May this be our reminder: "The wicked shall be turned into hell,  and  all the nations that forget God." Psalm 9:17 May this be our prayer: "O LORD, I have heard thy speech,  and  was afraid: O LORD, revive thy work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make known; in wrath remember mercy." Habakkuk 3:2 " Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?" Psalm 85:6 May this be our reaction: " If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from ...

Rejecting The King

Image
Rejecting The King Rejecting The King We are in a brand new series at Crossroads entitled, "THE KING IS COMING." Yesterday, We revealed three different types of people who rejected King Jesus with the reasons listed underneath each type. Let me introduce them to you, and then provide the link to the sermon that was preached. I. The King was rejected by His  heritage . John 1:1  "He came unto his own, and his own received him not."  The Jews allowed  their own point of view  and  lack of knowledge  to bring them to rejecting King Jesus. II. The King was rejected by  Herod . You can read about this in Matthew 2. Herod allowed his  power ,  position  and  pride  to reject King Jesus. III. The King was rejected by one  hanging  with HIM. You can read about this in Luke 23:32-43. The one hanging with Jesus rejected King Jesus by being  so close yet so far away, by being persuaded by what's popular, and by ...

Handle It

Handle It Photo Credit:  veeterzy  on unsplash. Handle It Have you ever broken a glass bottle or window? What did you do after the incident? Did you sit there and do nothing, or did you pick up the pieces? I'm pretty sure that you or someone else picked up the pieces.  Why? Here's a good reason: You didn't want the shards of glass to come back and stab or slice you at a later date. You probably did more than pick up the pieces. You probably vacuumed, wiped, cleaned, scanned over the general location and maybe even vacuumed again! Why? Because you grasp the after affects of leaving glass laying around without even having to step on the broken glass.  In essence: YOU " HANDLE IT. "  The old saying goes, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."  BUT - What if there are some broken things in your life? TREAT them as broken glass, and handle each situation through the wisdom of the WORD of GOD.  There are three broken areas of life we need to handle wisel...
