Back To Church By Being The Church

Image
Back To Church By Being The Church We have the privilege of getting Back to Being the Church for the glory of God! Let me recap a couple messages we recently heard on this most powerful topic.  Each of the messages began with a congregational reading from First Peter 4:17-18: "For the time  is come  that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if  it  first  begin  at us, what shall the end  be  of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?" We brought on the point that if we are "scarcely saved" the "ungodly and the sinner" will appear in hell due to our lack of Gospel Spreading because we are too consumed with others things instead of godly things. First, we were challenged on a message entitled, The Power of Salvation. You can listen to this message by clicking  here . Second, we were challenged on a message entitled, The Power of Grace. You ...

Trial By Fire

Trial By Fire We Have A God who CAN take us through a Trail by Fire for HIS Glory! Let me recap a couple messages we recently heard on this most powerful topic.  First, we learned we can be Tried, but Resilient.  You can listen to this message by clicking  here . We looked at Daniel chapter three while utilizing this outline: I. God’s people are  bad bowers  vs 12-14 A. We need  basic boundaries  B. We need  better boldness II. God’s people are  beauty beholders  vs 25 A. We  behold beauty  when we go through trials B. We  become better  as a result of the trials III. God’s people are  bounce backers  vs 26-27 A. With no  bitterness  (God, I can’t believe you’d allow this.) B. With no  blaming  (God, this is your fault! If he wasn’t king…etc) C. With no  boasting  (Look at what we did!) Second, we learned we can be Tried, but Rewarded.  You can listen to th...

God SO Loved

Image
God SO Loved We have a God who "SO' loves us! Let me recap a couple messages we recently heard on this most powerful topic.  John 3:14-18 "And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:  That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." First, let's look at the World-wide Cross. You can listen to this message by clicking  here . We jumped to Numbers 21 with the story of Moses listing up the serpent in the wilderness to note the following: I. The sting of sin is death...

Don't Let Your Light Go Out!

Image
Don't Let Your Light Go Out! We must not let our lights go out! Let me recap a couple messages we recently heard on this most powerful topic.  First, we must not  Hide The Light.  Listen to this message by clicking  here .  2 Corinthians 4:1-6 "Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God. But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our...

How Much More

Image
How Much More We Have A "How Much More" God! Let me recap a couple messages we recently heard on this most powerful topic.  I. The petitioning of prayer.  We must purpose to ASK of Him in prayer. Matthew 7:7  "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:" II. The proximity of prayer.  We must purpose to be one of the EVERY ONE who asks of Him in prayer.  Matthew 7:8 "For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened."   III. The precision in prayer.  We must realize God is very good at answering SPECIFICS in our prayers to Him. Matthew 7:9-10 "Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?  Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?" IV. The person of prayer.  We must see God as an even better FATHER than the best fathers that have ever lived! Matthew 7:11 "If ye then, being evil, know...

Take Aim For 2017

Image
Take Aim For 2017 Let's take aim for 2017. I'm going into 2017 with the same determination of previous years...If I aim at nothing, I'll miss every time. I desire to aim for the glory of God! I personally love the week in between Christmas and New Years. It's an excellent time for me to switch gears, and simply meditate on "Personal Life Stewardship" as one Pastor in California calls it. In fact, I have just picked up his book again, "Stewarding Life," and decided to read it and refocus.  Let me give you the three possible primary ways we may expend our lives in 2017, and then I'll let you decide where you are at and where you need to be with God. These three truths are from Chapter Two in Paul Chappell's book, "Stewarding Life," and I pray they will challenge you as they have challenged me: I. Squanderers waste  the life God has given in purposeless living. Or they waste their lives in selfish or temporal pursuits. II. Spenders e...
