Trial By Fire

 


We Have A God who CAN take us through a Trail by Fire for HIS Glory!

Let me recap a couple messages we recently heard on this most powerful topic. 

First, we learned we can be Tried, but Resilient. You can listen to this message by clicking here.

We looked at Daniel chapter three while utilizing this outline:

I. God’s people are bad bowers vs 12-14

A. We need basic boundaries 

B. We need better boldness

II. God’s people are beauty beholders vs 25

A. We behold beauty when we go through trials

B. We become better as a result of the trials

III. God’s people are bounce backers vs 26-27

A. With no bitterness (God, I can’t believe you’d allow this.)

B. With no blaming (God, this is your fault! If he wasn’t king…etc)

C. With no boasting (Look at what we did!)

Second, we learned we can be Tried, but Rewarded. You can listen to this message by clicking here.

We looked at Job's testimony through a trial and noted how he was rewarded while utilizing the following outline:

I. Job’s Loss vs 1:12-19

A. Job’s Family Left

• Their pleasure in sin
• Their presence in life

B. Job’s Finances Left

C. Job’s Freedom Left (bondage to the trial)

II. Job’s Love 

A. Job’s stand showed his love for God vs 1:1; 2:3

B. Job’s supplication showed his love for God vs 1:5

C. Job’s surrender showed his love for God vs 1:20-22

D. Job’s statement vs 2:9-10

III. Job’s Latter End vs 42:10-17

A. Job's praying in the latter end vs 10

B. Job’s prosperity in the latter end vs 10

C. Job’s pleasure in the latter end vs 11

We looked at Acts 6:8-15, 7 to study the testimony of Stephen's trial by fire. We utilized the following outline:

Radiant: having or showing an attractive quality of happiness, love, health, etc. bright and shining, reflecting beams of light.

I. A sly investigation vs 6:8-10

A. Stephen was greatly used vs 8

B. Stephen was heavily despised vs 9

C. Stephen was conversationally helped vs 10

II. A stirred inducing vs 6:11-14

A. Forced attacks vs 10,12

B. False accusations vs 11, 13

C. The face of an angel vs 15 (We’ll come back to this)

III. A stoned indignation vs 7:57-59

A. Anger that led to rejection vs 7:57

B. Action that led to removal vs 7:58-59
   
    • Removal out of the city
    
    • Removal of life 

IV. A steadfast identity vs 6:15; 7:55-60

A. The face of an angel vs 6:15

B. The freedom of assurance vs 7:55

C. The facts that agitated vs 7:56-58

D. The forgiveness that amazes vs 7:60
