Am I Really Saved? || Teenage Summer Baggage #1

TEENAGE SUMMER BAGGAGE #1:

Am I Really Saved?

One of life's challenging questions, "Am I Really Saved?" is asked within our passage (Acts 16:25-34).

We read the question in Acts 16:30, "...Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" Here's my question for you...do you know if you are really saved? In the Bible, being saved means trusting in Christ’s sacrifice on the cross for the forgiveness of your sins. He arose three days after dying to display His power over the grave. When you believe in Jesus Christ, you receive eternal life!

In Acts 16:31, God sent a preacher to answer this important question, "...Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved." Praise the Lord for people who God calls to point us to the answer of this question.

I. The defiance against the workmen proclaiming salvation. Acts 16:19-24

A. Faithful men proclaimed the truth. vs 19-20

B. Defiant men refused the truth. vs 21-22

C. The faithful men were beaten and disrespected by the defiant men. vs 23-24

II. The desire to know the way to procure salvation. Acts 16:25-30

PROCURE means to receive, to acquire, to secure and to get possession of.

This begs the question: What happened that caused a defiant man to now desire the truth of salvation?

A. The faithful men worshipped during their trial. vs 25

B. The God of the faithful men worked wonders during a trial. vs 26

C. The prisoners stayed put when they could have fled the scene. vs 27-28, 25

D. As a result, the keeper of the prison desired to know the way to procure salvation. vs 30

III. The decision to believe the word of powerful salvation. Acts 16:31-34

A. The keeper of the prison received the answer to his sincere question. vs 31-32

B. The keeper of the prison responded well to the Gospel. vs 31-33

C. The keeper of the prison reacted totally different to the preachers of the Gospel. vs 33-34

D. The keeper of the prison relayed the truth to his family. vs 33-34

Do you know the same peace that the keeper of the prison found in Christ? He realized how close he was to death, the blessing of God's power to preserve him and the promise of salvation that rescued him eternally!

It's my prayer that teenagers will believe on the Lord Jesus Christ so they can know the joy of laying this weight down!
