Time Is Of The Essence

The phrase, “TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE” makes its roots in the legal field. It was used in “contract law” in countries like England, New Zealand, Australia, Wales, Canada and other commonwealth countries and the Untied States. The phrase express, "the need for timely completion.”
We must understand that the coming of Christ is on the Horizon, and, therefore, TIME is of the Essence. We need timely completion of the reason why God has each of us here.
BELOW, we note how Christ responded to tackling life for the glory of God, and the example Christ leaves us in John 9:1-7 should be the "WHY" behind what we do. Why do we live fervent lives for the glory of God...because Christ did!
JOHN 9:1-7(1) And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. (2) And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? (3) Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him. (4) I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work. (5) As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world. (6) When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay, (7) And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
Jesus would teach that TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE.

I. Christ sees the so called problems as opportunities. Vs 1-3
(1) And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth. (2) And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind? (3) Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
II. Christ commits to a purposeful objective. Vs 4
(4) I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
Here are a couple questions to ask yourself as you commit to a purposeful objectives for the Lord!
—> What is undoubtedly necessary for me to do? Philippians 1:21-26
—> What is more expedient for me to do? (John 16:4 [Jesus]; 1 Corinthians 6:12 [Paul])
III. Christ understands His presence is outreaching. Vs 5 (Matthew 5:14-16)
(5) As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
Conclusion:
Many people, especially preachers, ask me...how do you accomplish so much in so little time?
Preacher: You seem to spend amazing quality time with your family, record and deliver daily chapter by chapter podcasts, preach multiple times a week, exercise/workout, visit, golf, plan ahead and occasionally travel around and preach…how do you do it?

My first answer (and the reality of it all)…by the grace of God!

But I do wish to attempt to answer that, but please understand we are all wired differently, and the following ways I go at it for the glory of God have helped me extremely, but you might need to find your niche. If my ways help you, then praise the Lord, but if you have another way, than glory to God. Either way, we must press on for the night is coming when no man can work!
—> I purpose to place myself in awe of God.
—> I take aim at life.
So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the LORD his God. 2 Chronicles 27:6
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Ephesians 5:16
• If I aim at nothing I will miss every time.
• What I'm aiming at is either for God's glory or it's not.
• Like a good sharp shooter, I practice my shot. (If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!)
—> I then look for ways to execute my plans.
—> I desire to spend [exhaust] my life for the glory of God.
Ecclesiastes 12:1-Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth...; Acts 15:25-26-Men who have hazarded their lives...; 2 Corinthians 12:15-I will...spend and be spent for you...; Philippians 2:30-For the work of Christ he was night unto death...not regarding his life, to supply your lack of service...
