Take Opportunity
It’s always exciting to take opportunity to do something we always wanted to do...for instance...
Maybe a dream vacation comes our way – we take opportunity. Maybe something that we’ve always wanted to buy falls into our price range – we take opportunity. Maybe a certain advancement in work or play comes our way – we take opportunity.

I wonder how we are dealing with the opportunities that God brings across our paths? Especially when these opportunities pertain to doing something good to/for someone else...
Galatians 6:10 KJV
[10] As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Sometimes, we don’t have to make opportunities happen, the opportunities present themselves before us!
Notice, when the opportunity presents itself, the reaction on our part is to do good to two types of people:
—>All men
We shouldn’t base the fulfillment or follow through of an opportunity on color, race, situation, personality, what this person can/can’t do in return, or how we’re feeling in the moment.
—>The household of faith
Paul uses the word “especially” when referring to doing good to the household of faith. We must remember that sometimes we don’t know the person within the household of faith, and other times we know everything about that person in the household of the faith. But our feelings and thoughts about the person or situation shouldn’t exempt us from taking the opportunity before us to do good to them and for them!

Question: When is it ok to not take the opportunities that are presented before us?
Simple answers:
—> We can’t if we don’t have what it takes to meet the need.
—> We can’t if we don’t have what it takes to meet the need.
Proverbs 3:27-28 KJV
[27] Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it . [28] Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.
—> We shouldn’t if it’s sinful.
Some people will try to convince you to do something “good” and that something is actually really evil. Don’t do it!
Isaiah 5:20 KJV
[20] Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV
[22] Abstain from all appearance of evil.
—> We shouldn’t if against God’s Word.
Acts 5:29 KJV
[29] Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
Please take this brief challenge to heart: When God gives us an opportunity, let’s fulfill all that God has for us to fulfill according to His leadership.
Remember: We can’t do it all, but we are the tools and vessels in the Master’s hand to accomplish His purposes!
