Give, And See God Will Open The Windows of Heaven!
IT'S AMAZING to be a part of a Church family that loves God and the things of God. One of the spiritual things they testify to love as I look over income and expense reports is their/our love to be gracious with the finances that God has blessed with!
God can open the windows or Heaven. God will open the windows of Heaven. Will God shut those windows soon? How long will He keep them shut?
Malachi 3:10-11a "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground..."
----> I. AN OPPORTUNITY TO WORSHIP
Matthew 6:21 "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."A man by the name of Ron Kelley on LifeWay wrote the following in January of 2014:
"Our giving should be viewed as a part of our worship to the Lord. If we are just giving to mark off a line on our spiritual checklist, we are merely involved in charity and we are missing out on the great joy of being a cheerful giver. This idea of our giving being a part of our worship is expanded upon in 2 Corinthians 8-9 as the apostle Paul makes the following points:
- Those who follow Jesus should excel in the grace of giving.
- Giving is an expression of the love one has for Jesus.
- God loves willing and cheerful givers.
- A willingness to be generous in giving is more important than the amount given.
- Our giving will result in praise and thanksgiving to God.
- Our giving should be a natural response to God's gracious gift to mankind."

----> III. Reminders of the different ways to give.
There are people from time to time who ask me about how they can give to and through Crossroads. Sometimes I even hear (this is exciting) we want to give, but we don't know where to give...you don't pass plates! :-) AMEN! Let me share how we do it...
Before I came, the former Pastor established offering boxes in the back of the auditorium. Therefore, I have connoted to implement that, and God's people give have continued to give beyond graciously! Yes, even without the passing of plates, but that's not the only way we give to God and through Crossroads...
We also offer online giving.
74% of Americans say they write no more than one check per month, and about 80% of Americans carry $50 or less in cash. Because of this reality, online and mobile giving is key. When it’s easy to give, people are more likely to give! With Subsplash Giving we’ve made giving simple and effortless. - Subsplash (our Church-App provider)
Our online giving is simple and secure. They actually give us money back as the online giving increases, etc. It's pretty cool...not to mention a blessing for the younger generation which is coming up which doesn't use much cash.
In conclusion:
I want to encourage our family at Crossroads to prayerfully consider sensitivity to God concerning giving. You never know how God wants to use us over above the normal tithes and offering. Like the the old adage states:
You can't afford to NOT give!God bless you, and let's live graciously!
Blessed Beyond Measure,
Pastor Justyn Smith
