Prayer Makes All Things Possible
This morning I awoke at my normal early hour, but getting up at a certain hour doesn't guarantee a strong walk with God...it's only a start. You must purpose to get to "the place of prayer."
As I was gathering my things to head to church, one of my many favorite decorations in my home study caught my attention, and it was the encouragement I needed to kick start my morning. The wall plaque said, "Prayer Makes All Things Possible." (Thus the writing on the picture within this post.)
I began to think about the many wonderful answers to prayer God has blessed us with (too many to name), and then God reminded me of the most recent (BIG) answer to prayer He has blessed us with. This, of course, encouraged me even more, and, therefore, it gave me the desire to be an encouragement to you by writing these three truths about why all things are possible through prayer:
I. Prayer makes all things possible, because prayer is the God-established avenue to the impossible. Matthew 7:7-8 "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Matthew 21:22 "And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive."
II. Prayer makes all things possible, because the God of the impossible is the power behind your prayers as He is the one you are praying to. Perfect impossibilities are perfect opportunities for God to prove Who He is to you and the unbelieving world. Matthew 19:26 "But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible." Luke 1:37 "For with God nothing shall be impossible."
III. Prayer makes all things possible, but only if you pray to the God of the impossible. You cannot expect to have answers to your prayers if you remain idle in praying. James 4:2 "yet ye have not, because ye ask not," and James 4:3 "Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts." Are you praying, and are you praying with the correct motives for the glory of God?
These three truths about prayer have encouraged me today, and I prayer that they will encourage you. May the God of the impossible show you very soon that He is the God that hears and answers prayer. Pray we must!
Walk with God today. Stand in awe of Him, and sin not! (Psalm 4:4, 33:8)
