No Greater Joy

I awoke early this morning thinking about answers to prayer, our little lady on the way, and many things to pray for concerning this and such things. Therefore, our Scripture Song from Third John verse four was on my mind. The words are as follows:

"I have no greater joy, no greater joy,
than to hear that my children walk in truth.

I have an earnest prayer, an earnest prayer,
that I may hear that my children walk in truth.

I have no greater joy, no greater joy,
than to hear that my children walk in truth."

*Tune written by, Mrs. Annette Smith (my mother)

You can find the audio for this song by clicking here.

More and more, the understanding of this verse will come alive for Rachel and me. It's already our prayer, but the desire will increase as our situation becomes "more real" every day.

There is great joy for any parent who gains a child, whether by natural birth or adoption. Just think about how gracious and trusting God is to allow anyone a precious gift like a child. Then think about the fact that a child will not simply end up walking in truth if we do nothing...God has given us the important job of training up our children in the way they should go. (Proverbs 22:6)

First of all, this means we personally know the truth that can make one free.

Secondly, we must desire to teach the Truth to those we lead with every opportunity we get.

And last, we must pray for the Spirit's protection, power and guidance of the truth as in enters into our children's lives. There is a great enemy who desires to snatch up the seeds of God's Truth of which we plant. (Matthew 13)

Whether you are looking to receive children, are currently raising children, or are praying for a successful outcome of a child who is out of your control or grown up, God can give the victory in each child's life, and bless you with this great joy we read and sing about.

As you listen to the Scripture Song via the above link, REJOICE if you have children who are walking according to the Truth of God's Word, but if you are still raising children, PRAY with that second verse of the song that we added, "I have an earnest prayer, an earnest prayer,
that I may hear that my children walk in truth," and I'll join you in prayer!

I hope this was an encouragement today. Thanks for reading and heeding!
